You deserve a space to be able to say what you need and be understood

Meet Bridgette Cordova
Trauma Therapist in Leesburg, FL
Hey! I’m Bridgette. I help Black women recover from the impact of trauma. I also work with Black women that are suffering due to the unrealistic expectations we often place on ourselves. The goal is to help you learn to listen to yourself, to validate yourself, and to live authentically as yourself.
Over the course of my time as a therapist, I have developed a passion for working with women, specifically women of color, to empower them to live authentically as themselves. That can look like overcoming trauma, navigating life changes, and finding ways to build support in their environment.
I love doing this work, because I have lived as that woman that felt like I should be able to handle it all. That believed what I wanted falls last in line. That pushed everything down in order to get through each day. I know what it’s like to finally get free from that, and I want to help others do that, too.
You can also learn to listen to yourself, express yourself, and live as you want to be, not who you’ve been pressured to be.
Services Offered in Leesburg, FL
Trauma
We will work together to process past trauma, understand how and why it affects you, and gain skills to improve regulation. Our goal is to learn to believe you are more than the negative things that have happened to you.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and am trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy.
Women’s Issues
Very often it can be hard to verbalize to others the things we struggle with as women. We should be happy to be moms and wives, right?
Two things can be true at once: we love the people in our lives, but we also struggle with these roles and expectations. Or maybe, we are just genuinely unhappy with this stage.
That’s normal. And it’s okay. Let’s talk about those thoughts and feelings, and your need to feel like yourself again. As you. Who you were, who you are, and who you want to be.
Depression and Anxiety
Do you feel like everything going wrong? Are you always telling yourself you could be doing more? Are you unable to quiet that negative voice that is always criticizing you?
We can work on reducing and regulating those thoughts and the feelings that come with them.
